6-day Gorilla Tracking Tour (RGTT 005)

A more relaxed tour, with two gorilla treks and enough time to explore more of Kigali and Lake Kivu

Day 1

Arrive Kigali International airport where a representative of Rwanda Wilderness Safaris will meet and transfer you to your hotel where you will be briefed about your tour
The rest of the day will be at leisure
Dinner at a local restaurant
Overnight at a hotel of your choice, budget, midrange or up-market

Day 2:

This morning after breakfast, you will then be taken for a city tour around Kigali
Lunch at a local restaurant
After lunch, drive north 2 hours to the Volcanoes Park in Musanze district.
Overnight at a hotel of your choice, budget, midrange or up-market

Day 3:

After a very early breakfast, you will drive to the park offices
You will all get together at the park offices and at 0700hrs, be grouped into groups of 8pax, assigned a gorilla family and trackers/guides who will brief you about the gorilla tracking experience and the particular gorilla family you will have been assigned.
Drive to the starting point of the trek where you will begin the hike to see the gorillas and your driver will stay and wait for your return.
Ounce you trace the gorillas, you will have a chance to stay with them for a magical hour experiencing their ways and behaviors before getting back to the base where your driver will be waiting
Return to your hotel for lunch
This afternoon you will be taken for excursions around the area
Overnight at your hotel of choice

Day 4:

Today you will be taking a second gorilla trek
0700hrs at the park offices you will be assigned a different gorilla family and a tracker/guide.
Following your magical hour with the gorillas, you will return to the guest house for lunch
This afternoon, drive further north to the shores of Lake Kivu
Overnight at a hotel of your choice, either Stipp Hotel or Lake Kivu Serena Hotel

Day 5:

Morning at leisure relaxing and enjoying time at the beach
After lunch, drive back to Kigali
Dinner at a local restaurant
Overnight in Kigali

Day 6:

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight depending on departure time
